Our Work

We deliver our mission in four ways.

1

Networking

Throughout the year, we host a series of events, including informal salon discussions, at which our members can meet, connect, and share ideas.
We host the annual [Kerslake lecture], at which a significant figure in the world of urban regeneration shares their view on the big challenges and opportunities we face.
We operate WhatsApp groups

2

Learning

Through our action learning programme, we bring together policy makers, elected representatives, and experts to develop and share innovative ideas in response to common problems.
The theme of our current action learning set is ‘Beyond YIMBY vs. NIMBY: how councils can change the development conversation’.

3

Publishing

We publish a regular stream of articles and opinion pieces, written by our members, on this site.
We produce the bi-annual LURN Journal featuring longer pieces informed by original research and insights.
We award the annual [NAME ] prize for that year’s most insightful essay.

4

Influencing

We shape Labour’s policy on urban regeneration, nationally and locally, in opposition and in power.
We deliver original research in conjunction with partners.
We convene politicians, professionals, academics, and activists to ensure that Labour is always leading the way.
